Finally freed, her spirit briefly reunites with Nebbercracker before ascending to the afterlife and he then thanks the trio for freeing them from their suffering. For reasons unknown, Sony Pictures decided to release this perfectly Halloween-themed children's film in the middle of June. 20th Century Fox will be distributing three films a year from the animation studio, starting with The Croods next March. The Monster House director takes the reins on this MGM remake of the 1982 classic about a family trying to reclaim their possessed daughter. Production is scheduled to begin this fall on director Gil Kenan's revisionist take on the 1982 horror classic.

Monster House welcomes kids and adults alike into a household full of smart, monstrous fun. Overhearing this, Constance becomes enraged, using two trees to lift the house from its foundation and chases her husband and the children. Nebbercracker tries to comfort Constance and explains everything is for the best, but when she realizes his intent to destroy her with some dynamite, she attacks him. As Chowder combats Constance with an excavator from a nearby construction site, the trio then lure her into it. Swings out on a crane's hook with it, dropping it into the house's chimney and vanquishing Constance.

Monster House is a 2006 American animated supernatural horror comedy film[3] directed by Gil Kenan in his directorial debut and written by Dan Harmon, Rob Schrab and Pamela Pettler. The plot revolves around a neighborhood being terrorized by a sentient haunted house during Halloween. Mr. Nebbercracker arrived home alive and revealed that the house is possessed by his wife Constance. When he was young, Horace met Constance who was an unwilling member of a circus sideshow and fell in love with her despite her obesity. After helping her escape, she and Horace began building the house. One Halloween day as children tormented her, Constance tried hurting them with an axe, but lost her footing and fell in the basement of the house also wet cement buried her body. Horace finished the house after Constance's death knowing it was what she would have wanted.

The house breaks free from its foundation and chases the group to a construction site. Nebbercracker attempts to convince the house that it should be destroyed while holding stick of dynamite, but the house refuses. As it tries to eat him, Chowder fights the house off with an excavator, causing it to fall into a pit. DJ is given the dynamite and he and Jenny climb to the top of a tower crane while Chowder distracts the horse. The trio see Horace with his wife Constance's ghost for the last time before she fades away. DJ apologises to him for the loss of his house and wife, but Mr. Nebbercracker thanks DJ and the kids for freeing him and Constance.

After Zee kicks him out, Bones notices his kite in the front door of Nebbercracker's house, tries to retrieve it and is abducted. And Chowder later investigate and learn that the house is possessed by a poltergeist. On Halloween, they save Jennifer "Jenny" Bennett, who is selling candy, from the house. Jenny calls police officers Landers and Lister, but the house stays quiet when the officers arrive and they dismiss the report. That same day, D.J.'s parents leave for a convention, placing him in the care of his teenage babysitter Elizabeth, or Zee. Later, D.J.'s friend, Charles "Chowder" Peterson, loses his basketball on Nebbercracker's lawn; D.J.
They offer the dummy to the house to eat, hoping to put the house to sleep so they can find its "heart" (its furnace). Landers and Lister then inadvertently foil the plan as the former discovers the stolen medicine; as they attempt to arrest the trio, the house soon eats them all. Separated from the officers, the children explore the sleeping house and end up in its basement. They find all the toys Nebbercracker had stolen and a shrine to his wife, Constance the Giantess, whose skeletal remains are encased in cement.
Aware that Constance's spirit made the house come alive, Horace tried to keeping people away by pretending to hating them for their safety. The next morning, a Westbrook Prep student named Jenny Bennett is selling Halloween candies. DJ and Chowder see her going to Mr. Nebbercracker's house and they rush out to warn her catching her before she is eaten by the house. Jenny then calls Officer Landers and Officer Lister, but does not believe their story. Later the trio seek advice from Skull who is claimed to be an expert on the supernatural.
After the ambulance leaves, Chowder heads home and DJ's babysitter Elizabeth arrives but DJ is not that excited seeing her even when she tries getting his attention about an smbulamce she saw. Just DJ is gone upstairs, Zee puts a tape cassette in the radio and plays her loud music at full volume, then calls her friends over when she's not supposed to. DJ slams the door to his room and goes to bed when he starts having a nightmare.

During the credits after everyone leaves, the house's victims emerge from the basement unharmed, including Bones, who discovers that Zee is now dating Skull.
That night, DJ receives phone calls from Mr. Nebbercracker's house with no one on the other end. Zee's boyfriend Bones scared DJ from behind while wearing Chowder's Halloween mask & takes it off. After Zee and Bones left downstairs, DJ called Chowder and told him to meet him at the Danger Zone. DJ quietly walked downstairs and went out the back door while Zee and Bones were in the living room.
